Create Your own Courses Online – Thrive Themes: Course Craft Relaunch

Do you have something to share with the world? Experience, knowledge, tips, advice, or an innovative way of learning? Some good ways to share this knowledge are, of course, email marketing, blogging etc. But what if you could create a course, help people with it, and earn money at the same time?

Thrive Themes’s Course Craft Relaunch offers you just that. Course Craft is a premium course on how to create and sell online courses, made by Shane Melaugh (co-founder of Thrive Themes).

The first time Course Craft was launched, the demand was beyond anything Thrive Themes imagined, which is why they decided to update it to reflect all the features and integrations that were added.

Things to Avoid when Making a Course

  1. Information overload: when this is new to you, do not overwhelm yourself with all kinds of different course materials that will stress your brain. It’s best to stick to one comprehensive course. Thrive Themes are leaders in the online course business and offer detailed and comprehensive guidance.
  2. Similarly to the previous point, don’t cram your course with an overload of information. Don’t turn it into a text book, but keep it interesting. Don’t make your students yawn, keep them drawn to your course instead 🙂 show interest
  3. Don’t sell a lecture. No one wants to buy a lecture. People want solutions to problems. So, offer them that solution. Create an incentive to make them buy your course. It needs to offer a goal, help people achieve something they want. That’s what will make them sign up for your course.
  4. Avoid negative thoughts such as “I’m not good enough”, “I don’t know enough to teach”. Those will only set you back.

Steps to Follow when Creating a Course

Consider the following points when you make your course.

  • What is the outcome that your student wants?
    • Know the outcome that your student wants
    • What are the 3 most important things the student needs to know to achieve his/her goal?
    • Break it down, step by step

The Advantages of Creating Your own Courses

You create just one product, which you can sell for years to come. You can keep on promoting it, even integrate it into email marketing or sales funnels, and it will bring you an income continuously. In other words, you do the work now, and it will keep on bringing results.

Watch here a video where Shane Melaugh, co-founder of Thrive Themes, explains how to launch a course in just 2 weeks without using expensive equipment. The video includes excellent tips, it’s worth watching.

The Disadvantages of Creating Your own Courses

It is a lot of work to create just one course, but the advantages heavily outweigh this one disadvantage which I don’t see as a real con. Simply put, if you want to succeed you must do the work and dedicate time, effort, and patience to it. There’s no such thing as quick money even it that is advertised everywhere online. When you see things like “quick money”, “$5,000 US in half an hour”, run the other way, fast!

Best to stick to the real thing.

Re-Launch Price: $297 US. Valued at $597 US, for this relaunch Course Craft is offered at $297 US. This special offer is available from Wednesday, 7 July around noon, Paris time (UTC +2) until Wednesday 14 July at 23:59 Los Angeles time (PDT).

  1. Great article about the online course. I am also looking to create an online course your article is very helpful to me. You have well explained about the online course from from beginning to ending, you also mentioned about the advantages and disadvantes of creating our own course. You also shared about the tips to avoid mistakes when creating our courses. Course craft which teaches us how to create our own course. I try to take the course. I like the article which is very helpful to me to make my own online course.

    Thanks for sharing your Ideas.

  2. Wow, this is a very well described article around the super Thrive theme. I am not a writer but for certain I will look into it as I have some friends who are prone to this. I like it as you have explained everything for everyone to understand, from the basic to the tips. Thank you for this. I will definitely recommend the themes. Thank you.

  3. I think we would all like to create and market our own courses, the problem that we have is that you will struggle if you don’t have a big enough following.

People aren’t going to purchase your course if they don’t know you no matter how good the course may be.

Having said that, there are platforms such as Udemy where you could upload and take a punt.

Not for the newbie who should get experience as an affiliate marketer first then when the times right and a big enough following may be something to look at.

Coming from Thrive Themes I have no doubt the course would be a good one and thank you for sharing Christine.

    1. Hi Mick,

Agreed, you need to have a following, so an email list would definitely help. One step at a time. Once you have your following, then you’re ready to share your course, and what I like about Thrive Themes is that they provide all the tools and help you need.

  4. Very informative.
This is actually my plan later on ?. Most online creators make real money through creating courses, your post is actually perfect timing.
Although how easy as it sounds, for sure there are a lot of things behind it.
First of, you must somehow achieved “something” or successful in one area to be the perfect example for your course.

    1. Hi Mina,

Very true, you should definitely have “a name”, be known, to be able to sell your course. Making my courses is something I’m also considering. I’m glad that this information was useful to you 🙂

  5. Hi Christine,

Thanks for introducing Course Craft Relaunch to us. I’ve heard of Thrive Themes in the past, but I don’t really know they also offer training teaching you how to create your own training course. It’s good to know we have one more option to learn how to create a training course.

I believe online training is the trend for future education, and everyone can make their course if they are good at something. I wonder if people get Thrive Theme plans, do they need to pay for Course Craft Relaunch? Or are they all included in one value pack?

    1. Hi Matt,

The Course Craft relaunch is a unique offer. Thrive Themes offer different packages, all at excellent prices, and every one offers high value. Course craft doesn’t come included in a package, but if you’re looking for a full package, the Thrive Architect is one of the most popular ones, worth checking out. It includes a fast, highly visual WordPress page builder, fully customizable and easy to use. It builds pages fast, including highly converting and beautiful landing pages, pre-built conversion elements, and instant drag and drop editing. Thrive Architect is laser focused on business websites.

  6. I have always loved to teach. And I see that many have turned online and are earning a much higher revenue than they ever did teaching at local colleges. So I would also like to test the waters. I have heard a lot about thrive themes. But I didn’t know I could create a course with them. I am really interested.

    1. Thrive Themes are great! I’m happy I found them, I’ll definitely use Course Craft when I’m ready to create a course. I also work at a school and although it is work done with love it is a lot of work for little appreciation and pay. You’ll make more money indeed by teaching a course online.

  7. Christine,

I’ve thought about creating some sort of course in the past, but I haven’t figured out what yet. A friend of mine suggested I come up with a dog training course, and this might be my ticket to doing just that. Just have to figure out how to get it into context!

Thanks for sharing this. I’ll have to try to get it before the offer ends.
